Terms of service
Last updated: July 2026. Plain-language draft; to be reviewed by counsel before general availability.
The service
SIP Sentry provides external monitoring of SIP and telephony infrastructure: scheduled checks, dashboards, status pages, and alerting. We aim for high availability but the service is provided “as is” — monitoring is a supplement to, not a replacement for, your own operational practices.
Acceptable use — this part matters
You may only point monitors at infrastructure you own or are authorized to monitor. Monitoring third-party systems without permission is abuse: probing unrelated SIP infrastructure is indistinguishable from attack reconnaissance, and we terminate accounts that do it. We rate-limit probes, publish our probe addresses, and respond to abuse reports at hello@sipsentry.io.
For REGISTER checks, you are responsible for using dedicated test credentials as described in REGISTER check safety. We are not liable for call-routing changes caused by registering production endpoints against our documented guidance.
Accounts and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically. You can cancel any time via the billing portal; the plan remains active until the end of the paid period. Plan limits (monitor counts, check intervals, retention) are enforced by the service.
Alerting
We deliver alerts with retries to the channels you configure, but delivery ultimately depends on third parties (mail providers, chat platforms, carriers). Keep more than one channel configured for anything critical.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect damages, including missed alerts, lost revenue, or your customers’ downtime.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days in advance. Dutch law applies; disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.
